It all started with a little magic when Matt Cook ‘07 opened his entertainment business at age nine. Three years later he became a philanthropist. By age fifteen he was touring the country as a motivational speaker and international project leader. President George W. Bush personally honored him with the nations highest service award in 2006. Matt has traveled to 40 countries and 40 states sharing his message, you don’t have to wait to become an adult to make a difference in this world. From Hollywood to Tibet, Matt’s unique journey has afforded him adventures few youth ever experience.

Now Matt can add author to his list of many accomplishments with the publication of his book, "Fearless." The practical leadership how-to book engages readers of all ages with a message that, no matter how young, people can become leaders of their own projects. “Whatever we want to do—start a business, lead a project, make money, give to others—we can do it."

His book reveals secrets he has learned from leadership giants in the worlds of business, sports, arts and entertainment, politics, and education. In the process of writing "Fearless," Matt had the opportunity to interview billionaire entrepreneurs and CEOs; the President of the World Trade Center and the President of Stanford; an advisor to top Fortune 500 companies who sold his own business for $130 million; a record-breaking Olympic champion; politicians from the White House, Congress, and the Pentagon; a U.S. Naval Commander who fought in the Cold War and led a submarine to spy on our enemies; the award-winning float designer for the Pasadena Rose Parade and Disney’s Parade of Dreams—and even master magicians of Las Vegas. Some have chosen to remain anonymous. Others share their stories along with success secrets.

Fearless also features unique stories of young achievers, including the youngest American to climb Mount Everest (as well as the tallest summits of each continent), the leader of the most successful student-led political campaign in history, the World Teen Magician of 2007, the 2005 IT Youth of the Year, author of "The Young Investor’s Guide to Retiring Young," and other entrepreneurs age 20 and under.
